We are trained to handle specialty items and keep them safe. Specialty items to pack typically include glasswork, artwork, fragile china, TV’s and delicate décor items. Our packing crew brings professional-grade standard moving supplies like boxes, tape, and packing paper when you hire us to do the packing for you! Crating Services
As a full-service moving & storage company, Alpha has created thousands of crates for our customers storage & shipping needs. Crates, also known as vaults perform a wide variety of uses ofr both storage & shipping. At Alpha International Movers, we have our own dedicated Crating Manager, Henry Simon. Henry has been with us since our inception in 1976 and oversees the construction, labeling, packing, location, shipping and security of hundreds of our customers vaults.
The majority of our crates are for our own on-site storage purposes in our heated 12,000 s.f. Pennsylvania warehouse. But we’ve developed a reputation with many residential and commercial clients who rely on our experience and knowledge of national & international shipping for the design, construction and even shipping of their crates. Some of the uses for our crates include:
- Specialty Item Crating – Delicate/heavy items such as pianos, grandfather clocks, antiques & artwork, and more.
- Estate Division – In the event of the loss of a family member, we can divide and ship the contents of estates to the respective family members. Heirlooms, grandfather clocks, furniture & more
- Commercial Equipment Shipping – We have many commercial & industrial clients around the Tri-State area that utilize our crating for domestic or international shipping of machines, equipment, electronics and more.
- Auctions – Many items bought at auctions are sometimes too fragile, valuable or bulky to be transported by the purchaser. We remove the risk and custom design crates to protect your auction investment. We can even arrange shipping & insurance for these items.
Our Crating Process
We initiate the process with a comprehensive evaluation of items, taking into account various factors such as risk assessment, storage considerations, and environmental elements like climate, temperature, and humidity. Additionally, pickup conditions, transportation mode, and the specific requirements of the final destination are carefully considered. Based on these assessments, we determine the most suitable container and cushioning system to securely protect your valuables during shipment or storage.
